A toothache is the dental emergency we see most often. Toothaches can have several causes, including tooth decay, a cracked or broken tooth, infection, or gum disease. Other common dental emergencies are a lost filling or crown, a broken or chipped tooth, and a tooth that has been knocked out.
Because we offer same-day appointments and extended hours, you can be sure of getting timely care. If you call our office outside of our regular hours, our answering service will connect you with the appropriate care.
Maintaining good oral hygiene, wearing a mouthguard during contact sports, and staying away from hard and sticky foods are ways to help prevent dental emergencies.
If you have a permanent tooth knocked out, rinse it with water and try to place it back in the socket immediately before visiting a dentist. If this isn't possible, make sure to keep the tooth moist, either in your mouth or in milk, and get to our office right away.
In most cases, dental insurance plans do cover emergency dental services. Our team will assist you in understanding your coverage and ensuring you receive the necessary care.
